One Fell Sloop

Murder and intrigue wash ashore off Maine's craggy coast as Roz Howard and Alan Stewart get caught in the wake.

~~~~~~
Long distance lovers Roz Howard and Alan Stewart set out to rekindle their romance on an idyllic holiday together sailing from Maine's Northeast Harbor to the west side of Penobscot Bay. But their plans get sidetracked when they drop anchor to spend the afternoon picnicking on an uninhabited island and discover a dead body lying on the beach. Although the authorities are quick - perhaps too quick – to label the death accidental, Roz and Alan are less convinced, and the two quickly become involved in uncovering the truth.
Encountering an assortment of colorful characters (including a millionaire playboy yachtsman, a salty old sea dog and pair of accomplished but somewhat shifty female mariners) Roz and Alan try to sort out an even more curious set of clues, including a botanical plant press and a trail of footprints that doesn't quite jibe, Roz and Alan rely on both intellect and instinct to unravel a mystery that has roots in a family rivalry going back several generations.
